Abstract

Both digital and face-to-face spaces shape our interactions in distinct ways, each presenting unique opportunities and limitations. In particular, these environments can create barriers to forming relational closeness, building community, and fully engaging with verbal and non-verbal cues. Within online contexts, these challenges are further compounded by factors such as the specific applications used, the organizational culture, and the role technology plays within the office environment.
