Abstract

This article challenges the premises of the academic model that has traditionally been used to prepare psychologist-manager practitioners. It also explores some of the underlying assumptions of our profession and looks at what's currently working and what's not. In addition, it reviews some of the problems and opportunities of being a hyphenated profession. An alternative model for educating professionals in the field is proposed along with a discussion of what may be next.
