Abstract
The evolving landscape of teacher preparation emphasizes the importance of embedding clinical practice at its core. International research underscores the value of collaborative professional communities and the integration of global perspectives in teacher preparation to foster effective teaching. International experiences, including study abroad programs, have been shown to enhance sensitivity to diverse learning needs and promote lifelong learning. This paper explores an innovative International Professional Learning Community (IPLC) established between St. Mark and St. John University in Plymouth, England, and the University of Central Florida, USA. Despite their size differences, both institutions utilize communities of practice (CoP) within their Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programs to develop professional capital among teacher candidates. This collaborative approach aims to bridge international practices and support continuous professional growth, contributing to the development of highly effective educators.
